I have a check that is made out to addressee or bearer. I am not the addressee. Can I cash it as the bearer?

The check also states that by cashing or depositing the check, my membership in a certain program will be activated. I don't see how my membership could be activated since I am not a member and they don't have any of my info. Will that activate the addressee's membership?

There don't appear to be any check marks at the addressee. It just says in full, "Pay to Addressee or Bearer:" Then it has a name and address next to it.

first of all, you have to make sure if the check is crossed (two check marks located at the addressee). you will have to let the addressee endorse (sign) the check at the back so that you can deposit it.
