Is there any way to get rid of the icons next to the time on my computer?

In the run window type msconfig. Press enter. Click on startup tab. Uncheck the programs you don't want to start up with windows (ie the programs in the task bar next to the clock). Apply and close :)

Edit your startup files and disable automatic startup on the programs you don't want to run automatically. If you don't want to do that just right click on the icon and select close. This will only close them until you restart your computer.

that's easy, just click start. now where it has the log off /shut down computer icons, right click the bottom bar next to them.
now go to the 1st tab, and put a check in the box that say's hide task bar and click apply.
