Why cant 2 loving people of the same sex have the same rights as a loving couple of opposite sex?
Marriage is about love but it appears that everyone has forgotten about that, and for some reason people believe marriage is about it been sacred and under the eyes of god.. well guess what, it aint! if that was the case, everyone would get married in a church, but they dont, people dont have priests anymore either (not all people)
You want to marry the person you love, the person you want to live your life with, share everything with! That has nothing to do with god! Love is love and there shouldnt be restrictions on who can show there love by marriage and who can not!

I am engaged to a woman. And the advantage I see is that fact that she is everything I have ever wanted in a spouse. And I'm everything she has ever wanted in a spouse. We didn't let the fact that we're both women stop us from being together.

Also, if she gets pregnant. I know I'm not the daddy. LOL

But the disadvantage, is that we're discriminated against.

There are many legal advantages, like protection of a home if one partner dies, and various inhertance rights. The right to make medical decisions for your partner if he or she is unable to do so for him or herself. The ability to truly adopt children as a couple and to jointly deal with their schools, their doctors, their coaches, etc. Emotionally the advantage is being able to pledge your love to someone, til death do you part, just like a straight couple does, and have them do the same for you.

Disadvantages? You'll probably have to do the dishes right after dinner!

advantage - having someone that cares for and loves you

disadvantage - can't think of one, other than having to put up with hate from other people but I'm not one to flaunt it so I don't really have that problem
