Carefully, with respect, love and patience. This will come as a shock, and the parents will be in denial and will feel a great loss. Just one step at a time, in privacy, with a box of facial tissues near by. Allow anger to flow, tears to flow, accusations to be heard, self-guilt to be expressed. This will take a long time to accept, then heal. Some things are better kept to oneself, as sometimes the pain in sharing outdoes the "freedom" of expression.

Any kid of mine who comes out will get a rubber hose upside the head and a stern warning not to get moist and ***** all over my house by bringing his/her gay lover over and expect me to fall in love with him/her. My standards deserve tolerance as well, and tolerance is a 2 way street, not a 1 way street.
Anyhoo....if I was a Rosie O'donell and was coming out to my mom, I would just say, "Mom, I'm pretty sure I am gay, and I just wanted to let you all know. I don't expect your approval, but I just wanted you to know so that you aren't disappointed later."
Parents love to know that they will never have any grandchildren from their kids. They also love to hear that their kids are engaging in high risk behavior that could lead to death.
Good luck with all that.

I've got two young daughters and I'm trying to imagine if either were ever to tell me this. I'd want them to sit me down (just the two of us) and tell me straight forward. I imagine that it would be very difficult for me to take but I'm positive it would be harder for them to tell me. Hopefully your friend's mom is accepting and will remember that no matter what her son is, he's still going to be her son.

Thats not an easy thing to do. I just told my mom and she wasn't happy about it but she got over it. Just tell him to be prepared for rejection - and hopefully she will accept him. He needs to be brave though and go ahead and do it! Good Luck!

He should just sit her down and tell her what is going on... theres no reason to beat around the bush that could make it worse...
The link below might help him out

omg....I don't know any good way.
If any of my boys told me they were gay...I'd need to have a strong drink and be allowed to talk him out of it until I could accept it.
Good luck.
