true acceptance of others, not tolerance. tolerance is the politically correct term for being weary of someone but not really showing it. acceptance shows that you embrace other people regardless of their views, orientation, social status etc. love all people as they are, not what you want them to be

Answer to this question still puzzles the mind of most philosophers to this day. If a person helps someone that is less fortunate than themselves whether it be through advice, or physical assistance or even financial could make a person decent.

"Decency" comes from being taught the right values at home by one's parents. By right values I mean not only what people call "good morals" such as telling the truth, not lying, not stealing and not hurting other people, or not destroying others' property. But right values also consist of kindness, compassion, the ability to reach out and help others, and to treat others fairly, as well as to stand up for justice and those less fortunate.Good manners and courtesy are also a necessary accompaniment.

Everyone has done terrible things in their lives (don't lie now) and what makes people decent is trying to do as little bad as humanly possible, noone is perfect.

Someone who doesn't hurt others by words or deed. One who respects others regardless of differences in race, religion, appearances, etc. You can be a straight-forward and blunt person but you can still be respectful of others.
