There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Disciplining your children in love (including the occasionall slap on the rear) is good for their understanding of what is right and wrong. It should never be done in anger and that is when people take it too far. We have taken the "don't hit your child" thing too far in our societey because children are out of control, but that is also a result of lack of other forms of discipline, bad parenting and neglect. People just don't prioritize their children any more, they are a commodity, they want to be their friends, not their parents.

because in todays socitey any form of physical harm is frowned apon even if its disapling your child or in prevention of being mugged. so most people belive that spanking is wrong because it inflicks physical pain apon the child. I dont agree. I beive the proper way to disaplen a child for doin something wrong is 1st time: time out. 2nd time: spanking. 3rd time spanking(s) &/or grounding. Of course every family is diffrent and there are diffrent levels of bad behaviour but spanking is affective in all familys just as long as you explain why they are being spanked

p.s JJ humans by nature have the tendacy to do bad things and it dosent matter how good or bad their upbringing is. I mean sure a person brought up in a bad home will have a messed up veiw so they may not understand how badly they behave (because they we're taught some things we consider bad are okay) but they do know they have been bad and still are occationaly. if you want to learn a bit more on this try reading "a child named 'it'" its an auto biography of an abused person.
(and again please exuse the spelling)

You got that right these little *** kids these days need they *** beat i don't wanna stereotype or nothing but those parents that say they don't like to hit their kids be lying or is just stupid because that's the dumbest thing i ever heard. I'm not saying beat the child to death but if they deserve to be hit then punish them because if not they will be spoiled brats for the rest of their lives and it will take forever for them to grow out of this stage if they even do. So me personally i think there is nothing wrong with whooping your child just make sure it's for the right things and not just because you feel like it

Well I can tell ya a good old fashoin a-- whoopin' never caused me to have to go to therapy or rob, kill, or or otherwise harm another human being. I guess only one time did I get one goodlickin' I didn't deserve was when I BROKE A POP BOTTLE on a rock and my mother thought I cracked my sister over the head with it. If she 'd a thought a moment she'd realized I could of knocked her out cold doing that . I was told this story cause I don't remember it. Never mind though cause I deserved more of them than I got.

Some idiotic Dr. taught against it in the 60s (Dr. Spock).
Then they removed punishment from the schools.
And they arrest parents for child abuse if they whip their children.
I believe there's a right way, and a wrong way.
My mom sure did it, and I respect her for it!
It's a Biblical principle. It actually says that if you spare the rod, you hate the child (as apposed to spoil the child). Proverbs 13:24

One should never hit or hurt another human! If someone did something wrong, talk about it intelligently. Don't hit! There is no such thing as a bad kid (or bad dog), only a bad parent or, "bad dog owner."
DON'T HIT! Unless you are a professional boxer being paid millions of dollars to be in a ring and beat up another boxer!

Most parents who love their children do not like to hurt them and they will use words instead of "whooping" (whipping) them. It works a lot better.

the law says hitting a kid is child abuse. even drs say that. but why. the bible says save the rod, spoil the child. or does it? so if you want to discipline your kid make him/her stand in the corner for a coulpe minutes of time-out. they straghtenup then. Right? who came up with that sh@t. hit the little sh@t. then see which way works!
