If your nails are yellow underneath you should consult your physician. That is sometimes a sign of a fungal infection and can be treated with antibiotics.

If it is because you constantly keep your nails painted, try going without polish, or with clear polish for a while- no light to the nails may make them unhealthy.

Drink lots of water and wash your hands a lot.

Good luck with your nail problem!

Wow, go see a Doctor there is only three reasons that your fingernails are turning yellow. One would be nail fungus; which, is treatable or if your skin is turning yellow; also, it could be kidney problems or jaundice. However; if your skin is not yellow it is probably nail fungus your Doctor will know what to do.

Go to your local beauty supply store, they have tablets that you can buy. You take them home, add water and soak your nails in it. If that doesn't work cut your nails off and while they are growing back make sure to keep them clean. Be careful while your eating and when you wash your hand be sure to get soap underneath your nails to.The best way to do that is by: putting soap on you hands and lathering as usual. Then scratch the palm of your hand (it gets your nails clean and keeps your palms clean)!!!

nail polish left on for more than five days, or in a dark color can sometimes yellow nails. try rubbing lemon slices on them, or a mr. clean magic eraser (works out self tanner streaks on skin too!) but if they aren't coming clean then they aren't surface stains and you're most likely missing a vitamin in your diet. a multivitamin every day might really do the trick. if you can stick to it every day for a month you'll see a difference in your nails for sure, if not the color, and your skin and hair will look great too. its not a bad idea to give them a shot.

What you have is not a fungus...it is caused from wearing dark colored nail polish, try changing to a white or clear for a while.,or put on a clear base coat. The darker colors have a tendency to stain the nails,

Make a paste of hydrogen pyroxide and baking soda. Put it on your nails for about 20 minutes. I saw this in a magazine once. Sorry I can't remember how often it said to do this.

If you had them painted for a long time, they could just need oxygen,(take off the polish for a few weeks) if not, it might be some sort of nail fungus.

drink more milk (get more calcium) and they can also be caused by brusies or left over nail polish residue...
try painting them a color like orange, red, blue, brown and hide the yellow-ness

Maybe you need to have your liver checked. Possibly hepatitus. Are the whites of your eyes discolored? See a doctor.

You might want to check with your doctor. I believe it could indicate a possible health or nutritional problem.
