My soccer conditioning has us running on the track and lately it's been about 95 degrees. We do take frequent water breaks. But even with water the heat is just terrible.
How do you keep cool when you have to exercise in hot weather?

mel - lol. I feel the same way. But obviously my soccer coach does not.

wooleybooley - we are running in the morning also. It is often much cooler then but we have two a days for two weeks in august, so we have to go to the evening too. I'm not doing it because I want to, trust me. I have no choice and neither does anyone else on the soccer team. Tips are more helpful than criticism right now.

Bring plenty of ice packs, and place them on your neck during the breaks. Hydrate before conditioning and after conditioning.

Use common sense. Water and sports drinks to replace minerals lost in your sweat. Eat a 1/2 a bananna 30 minutes before practice. Wear a hat to protect your head.

LOTS of water, go out and get use to hot before you get started, wear light colors, go a slower but even speed to control your heart beat better. If you start feeling bad STOP.
