the brake fluid is in a resivoir above the master cylinder, located on the driver's side close to the firewall, the fluid level shouldn't get low unless there is a leak, the level will go down slightly as the brakes wear but usually will stay within the operating range, if your only concern is the noise you need to have them inspected, many different things can cause noise (dust, glazing, hard spots, excessive metallic in the pads, etc)

What kind of car?
Is the red brake light on or what is the problem where you think you need fluid?
Add fluid to the reservoir on top of the master cylinder on the drivers side of the firewall back by the windshield.
Scraping sound is usually pads that have dirt or dust on them.
You need to sand the pads and the rotors to get them to "break in" together.

It's definitely not about brake fluid being low - have your car checked, it could be unsafe to drive. Go back to the place that done your brakes, ask them to check.

Next question, did you have all four wheels done? Who did your brakes?

If you had someone you know do it, you should have it checked at a shop, (its free) most shops do free brake checks.
again let us know. Dave

It's a ford with new breaks... Duh they always make noise. It's how you know there good. When the noise stops it time to get them changed.
