IBS may be due to functional irregularities in the intestine, colon
areas or may be due to any infections. Try to drink a lot of plain
water daily. Enrich your food with fibre rich cereals, vegetables,
greens, fruits etc., Please avoid junk food, carbonated drinks,
processed food. Do regular exercise which can increase blood
circulation. Also try some plant processed nutritional
supplements to improve your overall health. These can be
followed under your own control.
Regarding medication I would suggest to consult a good
ayurvedic physician. Since many, allmost all, allopaethic drugs
have severe side effects.

I was able to control mine with diet. I realized that when I ate alot of beef, mine flared and still does so I monitor my diet. Stress can also affect it adversly so try to keep that in check. Monitor your diet and see when it flares. You should also be under the care of a physician in case you have any problems that need meds. National Institue of Health has a good site. Good Luck!

you can ask your doctor about a drug called zelnorm - but this is only for IBS without constipation. so if you have any type of constipation, zelnorm is not for you. otherwise, you may want to think about avoiding spicy foods, alcohol, acidic foods, and caffeine because these foods may be making your IBS worse.
