My brother dropped his and his screen turns on but it shows verticle lines. Can you help with any tips, suggestion, links, or solutions?

It must have damaged your video card. You might want to try and open the computer and take out the video card and then put it back in. The drop might have loosened it and it might not be connecting to it properly.
MAC G4's major complaint by users is the vertical lines sometimes showing up on the screen. Sometimes its red and blue, sometimes its black and white. It is mostly like due to the VRAM getting damaged.

The only way to fix it is to replace the screen. Sorry - them's the breaks sometimes.
