wow, thats a lot of horse dope.

1) you've done the right thing and admitted your problem.

2) the second stage is to decide if you really want to stop. it sounds like you do, so you've already completed the two first steps. you're doing well.

3) next you have to find an organisation with counsellors. you need to be able to talk about why you have used ket and why you are afraid of stopping - is it psychological or is it physical or is it both? if you live in the UK you could try turning point or the national drugs team. I think their only acceptance criteria is that you WANT to make changes and you engage in their service fully - you don't have to stop using completely straight away.

4) you need to replace the time you spent using with something else. this is one massive mistake a lot of drug users make. it takes a lot of time and hard work to be an addict and when you stop using you will have a lot of free time on your hands and if you don't fill that time with something meaningful, you will find yourself pining after the gear. do things you've always wanted to, start a new hobby or surround yourself with mates. at the moment you will feel like you have no motivation to do so, but this will change if you work really hard

5) if your mates are no supportive, cut them lose. if they also use heavily, sometimes you moving forward will scare them and they will try and hold you back (not even consciously). however, you need to have supportive people around you so let the bad ones go. if they are true friends they'll understand. there is no way you'll stop if you're surrounded by other users.

6) if you can, enlist the support of loved ones. this might not be possible if you have judgemental family and friends.

7) don't give yourself a hard time. if you relapse don't think oh to hell with it and continue caining it for the weekend, think, well, i've screwed up but thats today, tomorrow is a new day and another chance to quit.

8) the money you save should be put aside as an incentive to keep going. you will not believe how much better off you'll be. think of all those skiing holidays or lazy days by a golden beach.

good luck mate and remember, there are thousands of people addicted to things (even diet coke!). being an addict does not mean you're a bad person nor does it have to define your life.

I wish I had an actual answer to your question, but I don't. Ketamine can cause rather severe addiction and withdrawl, so I would suggest that you don't try to come off of it alone.

Seeking formal detoxification and rehabilitation is probably your best - and safest - choice.

Best of luck to you.

What's ket?

If it ain't air, you can live without it!

No help I know. but wishing you good luck anyway.

THE FIRST STEP TO DEALING WITH A PROBLEM IS ADMITTING YOU'VE GOT ONE!!
