click "save as" and select ".pdf" as the format

to save a document as a pdf file, you must have a program or plug in that has this ability. pdf files were originated by adobe and the most common pdf maker program is acrobat which cost's a bundle. However, there are freeware / shareware pdf maker plugins which you can get from any shareware site such as tucows.com

You can save it as .pdf file format.
OR
Convert you Microsoft Office's documents by using certain software, such as PDF Creator.

I agree with Rich. I use Office 2000 and can convert a PDF to Word, but I think you would have to invest to Acrobat to convert Word to PDF. Acrobat is a tad expensive. Can't you figure out another way?

buy acrobat. then you can print to a pdf file.
