An errors when a fielder misplays a ball in a manner that allows a batter or baserunner to reach one or more additional bases, when given normal play should not have reached the base.
An error is also charged when a fielder fails to catch a foul fly ball that could have been caught with ordinary effort, thus prolonging the batter's plate appearance.
Like when a ground ball is hit to shortstop. The routine play is for the shortstop to throw the batter runnning to first out in an easy play. But if he let it go through his legs or he bobbled it, and the batter reached first base, it is an error.

Watch a game, and you will find out.
Errors are not good if your teams makes them, but are good if the other team makes them.
Errors are also considered to be "an extra out", and some teams you dont want to give any more chances than normal.

dropped balls, ground balls thru the legs, when some1 bobbles the ball causing the batter to reach base, a throw over some1's head, a throw in the dirt where the 1st baseman can't come up with it, or a throw that causes the player covering the base to come off of it.....

when u throw the ball and the person has 2 move their whol body to catchit or if u like mess up

Are you serious? k well it is a ball that should've been fielded. If they go to get it and it bounces off their glove, if they overthrow first base, if they miss a "catchable" ball in the outfield.
