if it hurt you in the past, you can try rubbing an icecube over the area to numb it a bit before you start
you can take a long make-up brush, line it up with the outside nostril of your nose to straight up past your eyebrow to your forehead.
Anything on the outside of that (ie thats creating a unibrow effect) you should pluck
line up the outside of your nostril with the outer corner of your eye to determine where your eyebrows should end.
the arch should be above your pupil
you can try drawing a shape you like with an eybrow pencil, then pluck to make them look like the shape
if they need a trim, brush the hair straight up towards your forehead and trim little bits at a time
don't overpluck, but if you do, let them grow back in completely before you try it again

I went to Walmart and bought a little kit that is sold for $2.99. It has some cream and a blunted pair of tweezers. I use the cream on my eyebrows, then gently start plucking to perfection. Don't go too crazy though..nobody wants to look like they have no eyebrows.

I haven't tried this yet but try to numb your upper eyebrow where you will pluck with an ice cube.

use an eye pencil and trace on your eyebrows how you want your eyebrows to look and pluck the hair outside of what you didn't trace.

pluck them after you shower (the steam opens the pores) and moisturize.

i prefer to wax, then pluck the remaining hairs.
