Well the Israelites werre supposed to do the dirty work over there for us, but that didn't pan out.

Its hard to watch the images of the wounded and dead without having an emotional reaction. Clearly, this is a brutal situation and many dozens of people have been caught in the crossfire. However, your question refers to short-sightedness. I think in general, the U.S. in the past few years has made a far sighted effort to play the role of honest broker in the region and try to get all sides to the table and negotiate a settlement. At the same time, Israel is a strategic partner for the US in the Middle East. It is a democracy in a sea of totalitarian regimes and monarchies. The US support of the Israeli military is consistent with the US war on terrorism. Israel is fighting terrorism in the mideast, so that those terrorists will not be able to grow, prosper, and spread their ideology to other parts of the western world.

What is wrong with you? Don't you know Israel has been persecuted for thousands of years. Everybody seems to hate them. If we didn't sell them weapons no one else would. They need friends somewhere and I'm glad the united States is their friend. If they had no weapons they wouldn't last a month. What is Hezbollah doing to them? They maim too,but I guess that's all right.

Hon, I don't think we should be giving weapons to ANYBODY....it's backfired on us in the past....you'd think we'd have learned from that ~!#@$^%(*)_!!!!!!!
