You're getting it done tomorrow and still haven't decided?? You should really put thought into it and make a definite decision before getting it done. It's not something to be done on a whim. If you get it done and don't like it, you can always take it out and let it heal, but beware, it often leaves scars. So be absolutely sure first.
Most people I see only have one top ear piercing, not both. And it's usually done in the left ear. I'm not sure why or anything, it's just most common. So you should only get one in the left. As to where on your ear you get it, that's up to you. If you get it too high, it will hurt more and your hair might get stuck in it, but if you get it a little lower (near the middle) it might not look as nice. It's really all up to your preference, so try to figure it all out before you get it done.

First, let me start off by letting you know how dirty and dangerous stud guns are for piercings. They cause blunt force trauma and that in turn can create excessive scar tissue and increase chances of a keloid on the piercing site. They also use inferior, non-implant grade quality jewelry. And last, they can only be cleaned on the surface with alcohol wipes which does not sterilize them since the plastic guns are pourous and can collect mico-blood spray and other bacteria in them from use.
Now, that being said a professional piercer that uses disposable needles, implant grade, autoclaved jewelry and has training in anatomy and cross contamination would be your safest and most pleasant choice.
safepiercing.org and tribalectic.org have shop locators where you can find a local piercer that has a good reputation.
You can get your cartilage, snug, lobe, rook, tragus, daith, conch or whatever other part of your ear you wish pierced. That is up to you. I would recommend avoiding piercing cartilage on the ear you use to sleep on or talk on the phone with since it will get the most abuse and phones have tons of bacteria on them that can cause infections.
Lastly, caring for the piercing is an ongoing process. Never use alcohol (dries out and irritates the piercing, is also harmful to gold), peroxide (eats away new and healing skin cells as well as the good and bad abcteria on the skin), neosporin (petroleum products trap dirt and dust and do not allow the piercing to "breathe"), or anything else that says on the contianer "not for deep or puncture wounds."
A simple antimicrobial soap like Provon or Satin or a sea salt soak (1/4 teaspoon non-iodized sea salt to 8oz warm water) are all you need for healing. Clean twice a day. Lobe piercings take about 8 weeks to heal whereas cartilage can take from 6 months to over a year to heal.
If you have any other questions my aim is badkittyinj1 or you can email me.

Cartilage piercings never heal over, so if you get one, you had better want it for life. They are sort of painful, also. Not just the piercing part, but they tend to stay sore when you lay on an earring or something like that.
I have two in the cartilage. One in the middle of the ear and one in the upper cartilage. I did them 29 years ago, long before cartilage piercing was popular.
I rarely wear earrings in them now, but they have never healed over like lobe piercings tend to do if you don't wear earrings to keep them open.

its totally a matter of personal taste.
my first piercing in the cartilage was near the top of my left ear.
hurts a little more than getting a regular ear piercing.
will be tender to sleep on for a few weeks.
keep it clean, and make sure you go to a reputable salon/piercing parlor.

Get one piercing in each earlobe. That will be normal, but if you want more style, then do two piercings in each earlobe. It'll hurt real bad if you do it on the cartilidge, and it'll look weird if you do it on only one ear.

Honestly it should be up to you. Ive heard from some that it is painful to get a piercing up near the top but others would disagree.. So it really depends on if you can handle it.

Either place is cool, just think about where you want it to be seen, or if you wear your hair a certain way will it tug at it. Also cartilage piercings seem to take forever to heal so I suggest just getting one at a time so you can sleep on at least one side of your head.
