An military offensive is , in my opinion,should be the last option.Firstly, this would instill hatred against in other countries, especially those aligned with the terrorists.As hatred is a powerful driving force, it would drive these people to fight harder ,thus increasing suffering as more lives will be lost .Secondly, from the information gleaned from news reports, Israel is mainly using airpower to crush the terrorists,but it does not seem to be working
,as rockets form the terrorists are still being lauched agaist Israel.The only viable option is to use a good old-fashioned infantry assault backed up with artillery and air cover and to a smaller extent by armoured divisions.Such a camapaign would stretch to months if not years as such tactics are more suited to fighting conventional armies.Also, it would be expensive in terms of the number of lives sacrificed.
In my view,Israel should use a covert military strategy.By using its secret services to selectively eliminate potentially outstanding would-be terror recruits.

When Hezbollah illegally captured two Israels soldiers the way to have handled the situation was for them to release the hundreds of Lebanese soldiers that they're holding illegally themselves.

Declaring all out war on a country that is unable to fight back and killing hundreds upon hundreds of civilians is not the answer. The entire world with the exception of US, England and Israel agrees. I wonder why we're always in the world minority when it comes to Israel?

Only problem is your just boiling it down to whats happened in the last few months. Isreal goes into towns on a regular basis in Gaza and Southern Lebanon when there is an attack on to "capture" the "terrorists" (which basically means anyone they can round up and throw in jail). They have about 10,000 of these "terrorists" including women and children. Hizzbollah rightfully looks like heroes in the arab because they are standing their ground on principle against a brutally overwhelming force. Can you understand why arabs cheer them on, if you were an arab wouldn't you want someone to fight for you if you were an innocent in Abu Gharib, Haditha, Qana, ect.?

This fight has been going on for a thousand years and if you really wanted to go back to the very begining of it all you would find was something trivial anyway. Both sides are wrong.

I would get the WTO or UN to impose sanctions on the lebanese government or for that matter any government who supports radical groups. I would present all evidence to the authoritive bodies to support the sanctions if they were to be imposed, and give reasonable times and conditions for the situations at hand, as well getting the opionions of the governing body and its allies for further actions such as military involvements.

Unfortunately, since Hezbollah has set up amongst the Lebanese people in their NEIGHBORHOODS...the Hezbollah are the ones responsible for the civilian deaths.
