arraged marriage means = parents pick your marriage life!! bull
ok my parents say that i cant date because im indian and in india "mostly" everyone got arraged marriages when the were around and they were the ones who didn't get arranged marriaged!! and we moved to the US 4 years ago and my mom doesn't even let me talk to girls on the phone!! this is bull i tell them its not right but they keep saying study and gete a good job then we'll talk!! is that even fair!!? what should i do?

yuh that is tru india is becoming more westernized these days..but still as an indian ya pakistani or juss plain desi we shuld respect our parents decision but also at the same time tell them nicely how we feel and try to work around it and if they dont agree then yu have no other choice unless yu choose yurself not to listen and be hard headed and do whut yu want thats yur life..

Well that's the way it is back home and even though you have been here for 4 years your parents still have the beliefs...respect them get good grades and when the time is right you will be able to make your own choices.

You, sir, need to respect your culture and your parents. Whether you believe it or not they are probably doing what is best for your life. The most sucessful people in life are educated, first, married 2nd. I can't speak to your parents reasoning because I was not brought up in the Indian culture, but I understand respect and in your culture respect is above many other things in life. I would stick it out.

OMG. that is like totally not fair. its ur life, not theirs. hu are they to control ur life. thats just messed up. you should confront them saying how they would feel if they had arranged marriage...then they wouldn't hav met eachother. and that u want to meet the special person for u. well goodluck.
