From my personal experience... yes.
But, like I told my gurl yesterday. I don't care WHAT happens. I will NEVER get a sex change. I like being a girl.

Many get pulled into that group from a young age and figure out their gender identity later. They're young and confused like so many and find comfort with people similar to them, but they still feel like they don't fit in and eventually realize that they're transmen. I've actually met one guy that didn't start out as a butch lesbian. Actually, I've met a couple transmen that didn't follow that oh-so-common path.

No, not necessarily. Most FTM, never associate themselves as lesbians when they are women. Most FTM or MTF consider themselves a man/or woman respectively in the wrong body.
