How many of us get really Annoyed and Angry with these Time Wasting Automated messages.
We press the numbers they ask you to do ,either 1 to speak to...or 2 to speak to...or 3 to speak to..or 4 to speak to..or back again when you have done all those things to press 1 to ....or press 2 to....or press 3 to..... just to get through to the Dept. you require to either Query a Bill or making a Complaint, or for anything else you are calling about.
Phone calls are not Cheap or Free, they should be with all the Profits they make ! they keep you waiting for ages, and when you do eventually do get through, on most occations you can't understand a Word the Operator is saying.!!
It would be interesting to hear from anybody who Works in a Company who has this Dreaded Anomated System,and read what their views are on them.
I cant wait for the Day they bring back the Good Old Engaged Tone, at least then our Phone Bills will be Cheaper and our Blood Pressure will be Lower.

I love these automated systems, they get you to the right person you want (Most of the time), and save you having to go through some operator. I have rarely found a problem with any company who uses them.

As well as that, some of my clients use the Automated system, and it has created a mass increase in the efficiency of switchboard staff, who can focus on other things. It also means the caller can find the person or department they want.

I think the lower populace is scared of new technology, and they fear this method of being able to increase your efficiency. Instead of working out who would be best for their issue, they would prefer to wait on some person to answer the phone and the caller explains the issue to the operator, and then the operator finds the right person for them as they coulod not think for themselves, and then the caller gets through and has to explain the whole issue again.

They will learn this new technology soon enough, and then catch up with us. I really like these voice controlled ones though.
