RED, PINK MAKE THE LIPS LOOK FADED

The question is too vague. Everyone has different shades of skin regardless of racial ancestry.

If your best feature is your eyes then play them up and use a dab of gloss on your lips if anything at all.

If your lips are your best feature, then play down the eyes and by all means use color on your lips! But remember, if your teeth could use some dental work, or they are discolored from smoking or medicine, then think twice about wearing lipstick because it will call attention to your teeth.

If your skin is very dark then berry shades are very pretty next to dark skin. If your skin is lighter then you can go with almost any color unless you have yellow undertones and then you would want to stay away from anything with a blue or purple undertone.

If you want, pickup some really cheap colors at a department store and just experiment. You might even try your closest Avon representative and tell her you would like some free lipstick samples to help you decide what colors look best one you. Sometimes two colors mixed together work well, but you have to try them to see for yourself.

Have fun making your lips kiss-a-lushous!

This is a pretty vague question because you know us black people come in all different shades. If you have a lighter complexion then you would want to go with something a little darker in shade. Earth tones are also good for the lighter skin complextion, or a clearly tinted pink or red with some gloss in it with shimmering sparkles. For the darker complexion it's nice to wear a clear gloss that shimmers, I love the way this looks on darker sista's. You can wear the lighter shades of pink or red with the darker complexions because the contrast is more intense with dark skin.

You need to hit up the Fashion Fair lady at Hecths department store. They will make your face up for free in order to train you on what shade is best for your skin tone. We come in many different shades. The lipstick for your tone of skin has a specific number you'll need to learn about.

Yeah I'd say pink too. Mostly because I am a huge pink fan. It is my absolute FAV color!
But I do think light shades would look good on a black person. be it a light red, light pink, beige, ect.

I think that neutral lip glosses are best, but either red or pink can work, depending on your own lip color. Different lip colors yield different results. If your lips are pink, the color will be brighter than if a darker tone. I use a brown lip liner to control the tint and blend it with the lip gloss or lipstick.

Im from australia, and i think this colour would look really nice on you, it's called Revlon pearl 457 wild orchid, it's a rich reddish pink, at least have a look at it when your walking through the make-up department, stay away from the pale lipsticks. All the best Amazon.

it really depends on the shade of your skin and the effect you're looking for! I'm telling you, I'm dark-skinned and totally avoid red and pink, this doesn't fit: I go for plums, browns, bronze.... Nothing too light.

pink might be a little too light for you and will possibly make you look washed out. a bright red will look really good with your skin type
