First, you're not too small to play in College. College baseball tends to be more accepting of players of all shapes and sizes because they lose so many pitchers to major league baseball.

As for gaining weight. Be careful with that at your age. You haven't fully developed yet (Look at pictures of Derek Jeter then & now), and if you put on weight deliberately & then develop you'll be much bigger than you want to be. Eat right excersise, work your legs especially. Also, throw a lot. Not hard, but like catch. You'd be surprised how much just playing catch prepares you. Also throw strikes, don't be afraid of the batter making contact. On any hitter's best day, you can still get him out 7 out of 10 times.

P.S: Consider the Rutgers Scarlet Knights my Alma Matta

Yea i think you need to gain a little weight. Just keep working out. Build your body mass, not your fat. Randy Johnson (to the person above) is 6-10; 231 lbs. He may not show it because of his height but he weighs a lot.

The shortest current pitchers are (2006)

Chad Harville---------5"9" - 185 lbs
Byung-Hyun Kim ------5'9" - 175lbs
Shane Komine -------5"9" - 175 lbs
Chad Harville --------- 5'9" - 185 lbs.
Michael Tejera-------- 5'9" - 190 lbs
Shane Nance ---------5'8". - 191 lbs
Fabio Castro ---------5'7" - 175 lbs

So gain another 70-80 pounds or so.

But you still have plenty of time for puberty. Your weight will increase 15 to 65 pounds and your height will increase 4 to 12 inches. And sometimes puberty doesn't stop til your 21.

*EDIT I just looked up height on the weight-height chart.

If you are 5'7 and a small frame you should be 123-136; medium frame-133-147; large frame - 143-163. So you are underweight.

Ryan! No worries dude, you're only 15... Just keep 'fanning' those highschool hitters, and the size will come. Too many highschool kids try to change their body type to become a stud. The key is to let your body determine your body type, use conditioning and weight training to maximize your potential, but especially in baseball, it will be your fundamentals and YOUR ABILITY TO THROW STRIKES! Keep throwing strikes man, and the sky is the limit.

Height doesnt matter buddy. Look at Bartolo Colon hes about the same height and his fast ball is in the high 90's! One advice, run alot. That gives you strenght on your legs. Thats a pitchers advantage.

you can't be too small to be a pitcher...as long as you throw fast enough what does your size matter, it's not like your running the ball to home plate. Look at Randy Johnson, he is as skinny as stick but he still throws heat.
