I played SWG for more then a year, before the new game enhancement, I liked it a lot, but I didn't like the NGE at all. Since then I've switched to World of Warcraft. I got into SWG cause I was a big Star wars fan, but that was my first computer game. I would suggest you try out the free downloadable demo's, I know star wars has a free demo, and so does WoW, if you have any troubles in WoW let me know I'll sign you up for recruit a friend, and they will send you the trial product key.

As far as the Graphics your computer only being 2 years old should be fine, you might just upgrade your graphics card. I would have to say that WoW has the ability to have better graphics, but you can turn them down for better game play. But the same can be said for SWG.

And for Eagle's comment, they took out the crafting part......sorry man

I played SWG when it first came out (bug city, but it was still fun). I left for another game and returned around the time of the combat "upgrade". That system was lame in my book, because they went from a unique combat experience to more of a standard MMORPG combat system. I quit a few days later. Then I returned about the time of the game revamp. This ruined the game even further for me, as it took away nearly all character customization and replaced it with a sub-par standardized leveling system (just like every other game out there). I left after 2 days. This past week I returned to find an empty shell of a world. The server I was on hardly had anyone online...the big cities from when I played had become ghost towns, the vendors and malls were not stocked. While I suppose it could be that my server was one that took a big hit in subscriptions, I would imagine it has been similar on most servers, but I can not verify that.

The crafting is still the best I have seen in ANY game...period.

Isnt that a web workstation sport? cuz even if it truly is. international of warcraft probly stole all the followers yet when its a console sport (between the recent consoles) probly quake, assassins creed, rock band, guitar hero, halo, gears of warfare, and so on. probly stole all the gamers from it.
