It is the most racist, idiotic, narrow-minded comment to ever make. Most people do not know what the heck it is because there is no real and printed defination coined with that term. It's just some arrogant group of individuals presuming anyone "brown" from the middle east or yes even India (which has nothing to do with Camels primarily) use the camel as their mode of transportation. That's fine but the fact that it has a negative connotation associated with it and the fact it is involving a "jockey"? That's just absurd. In any case, hope that helps.

A jockey is someone who rides an animal...normally used when someone rides a horse. So...a camel jockey would be someone who rides camels...it is generally used as a racial slur for Arabic people.

Camel Jockey is to Arabs what Porch Monkey is to African Americans. You DO NOT use these terms if you are a civilized person. They are very racist and hurtful.

i am not writing you to offend. but it's like this: there is a big race in the desert, everyone rides a camel, whipping them to win, very exciting. but it is a derrogatory American vision that all Arabs...of course...ride camels and participate in this big race...It is not so racial as much as a culteral bias that they are un-western in their basic beliefs...the camel is foreign and strange to us...a white gowned sheik would be not likely called a camel jokey or a Indian or Pakistani...i think to be used correctly they would have to be of Arabia, not not of higher social standing. It is derrogatory, but i do not think so derrogatory that you would have to consider it an insult, i'm sure the Arabs have words for country bumpkin Americans that if said to them might or might not be considered an insult by the receiver.

Someone that smokes Camels. Kind of the opposite of the Marlboro man. He sits on a horse. Has a big hat and doesn't blow up people. Hope this helps.
