I have never heard about that. I have heard of caster oil, although that induces diarreah too, so that may not be the best choice.

Physical activity, making love, nipple stimulation, homeopathy and acupressure have all been documented as effective ways to begin labor, without the possible side effects of drugs or herbs. Tea made from parsley or cumin seeds will also often stimulate contractions, and both are gentle and virtually free of side effects. Primrose oil has been considered to induce labor and olive oil is even the Bibical tell-all for many ailments, as well as cooking. If you are pregnant, I would want to consider in detail 'if' the baby is really 'late' or just not ready to be born yet. As usual, you should consult your physican to be sure.

I don't know about olive oil....but I heard they used to use Cod Liver Oil a long time ago to induce labor. I wouldn't do it if you're thinking about it...don't know if it does any harm...

Don't know about olive oil, but if you want to go into labor and your running past your due date there is something in semen that can help you out; so have sex.

I would also recommend boinking. Doing it can release oxytocin which helps produce contractions. Spermies also contain prostaglandins which helps to soften the cervix and prepare it for delivery. There are many other ways of inducing labor, but sex is most definitely the best way of doing it.

No, but sex can!! That is how I went in labor with my daughter. There is something in the man's sperm that acts like pitossin(not sure if spelled right) to induce labor.

I tried everything to induce labor on my due date. Unfortunately nothing worked. My OB doc had to break my water and give me pitocin to get my labor started.
