It's not right to shoot down the entire system based upon the mistakes of the few. Mass punishment went out with Hitler and Mussolini.

I don't think they should ban it, but there should be a lot more restriction on the things that can be displayed. There can be many things wrong with the site, but if they cleaned it up a little bit then perhaps it would be a safer site. However, no site is safe on the internet. So, even if someone's son or daughter were to delete their MySpace account, there's the possibility that they could be on month number seven of chatting with some random person who IMed them, asking for a lot more than just a name and address.

Don't worry... MySpace is way too big for them to shut it down... and as for lawsuits... its not MySpace's responsibility to babysit little slutty kids... thats the parents job... and besides... Myspace would win in court anyways....

Plus MySpace isn't the only venue that could be dangerous for kids... hell if they shut down MySpace why not shut down all other sites like it as well... and while there at it.. why not shut down Yahoo Chat or any other chat site or program..??? and hell even this (Yahoo Answers) ...

don't get me wrong.. i do believe children need protection against predators .... but the Parents should be the first line of defense.. not MySpace or anyone else... People need to grow the ***** up and stop passing the buck.

MySpace should split its service into 2 different websites.. when for adults and one for kids... that way it would be much easier to track the child predators... also they should make every account "PRIVATE" unless they are on your list...

Only around 3% of the people who use myspace do that ****. They shouldn't ban it because some stupid slut decides to meet someone they don't even know in a dark area at night..

I think it depends or maybe they should set an age limit if that is possible. If you have a well behaved child that child would not meet another person that he/she dose not know. If you are worried about your child doing this or someone elses child doing this you need to have a long talk with them and tell them what happens to people who meet up with strange people off the internet. Be very blunt let he/she know rape and murder happen on a daily basis, and they could be the next victom of a sick person. Tell them there are people who rome the internet chat rooms and MY Space for the sole porpuse of meeting a young child to have sex with. Also let the person know most of the people on my space have no life if they have time to sit around "playing" on MY Space.
Hope this helps!!!!

I think they should just ban myspace regardless. Too many whiney kids complaining about how much thier life sucks while they whore themselves out to the world with grainy high contrast photos of themselves crying. Makes me sick.

No... I think parents should monitor the time their kids spend on the internet and what they are doing....

MySpace totally ROCKS, if you're not an idiot (or a pedophile for that matter).

No, if "underage" people keep getting into the site, then they should look into a verification service, such as drivers license number being compared to the DMVs information about you, no one under the age of 13 would be allowed on.

using your authentic call is a great way for family individuals to locate you, or friends. Do the authentic call sweetie it is likewise outstanding for once you're job finding and making use of at a school(s). -- many companies/colleges are using myspace with a view to confirm who they are accepting, a "who's Suzy P" As on your stalker prob.(coz some yahoo answerees can get somewhat immature) you could set your profile to "inner maximum" or you could "Block" undesirable "trolls"(as I even have found out the pests on indexed right here are) comparable with facebook too i think of (sorry i'm a entire myspacer:P)

Predators are in almost every chat room on the net that children use..posing as children. You name it, even educational sites. Parent should not allow their children free reign of the computer.. THey should teach about internet safety in public schools..and the danger of giving out personal info when they are minors... for all the kids whose parents are too busy or lazy to care.
