I soak my rings in a tiny dish, using hot water with Dawn dishsoap. Then I take my electric toothbrush and use an old head I save for cleaning rings, and clean the stones. This is assuming there are no loose stones. Then I rinse in a tiny dish of clean water (so they don't go down the drain). Blot dry with a clean towel.

This works great on my rings. Equal parts vinegar and hot water with a few drops of dish soap or liquid laundry detergent. Mix well and heat in microwave until hot, but not boiling. Drop in jewelry and soak a few minutes. If needed, use a soft toothbrush to clean crevices. The secret is the heat.
I've also used toothpaste. That works well in a hurry.

gin is supposed to be good for cleaning jewellery. Pour a small measure into a glass and drop in your rings. Remove after 15 minutes and dry and polish well with a soft cloth.

Go to the jewelers, they usualy have a special cleaner you can buy, and it lasts for a long time. They can also do a professional cleaning, to get your jewelery nice and sparkly to help you out.

amonia and water works great, but they say that having the jewelry on when you shower will clean it just fine because it is just dirt and body oil on the jewelry anyway.

This might sound silly but toothpaste on a soft cloth works wonders. It even makes diamonds shine.

You can use some efferdent tablets. I use them all the time and they are great little cleaning tablets. You might take a soft brush to them as well.
