It's hard to play with her because all she wants to do is chew everything! I'm running out of ideas to keep her entertained and happy.

You are a good mama.

She does not need constant entertainment. She needs time by herself to begin to practice her own level or stage of curiosity. she will spend hours looking at her toes or the billowing curtain. The staring is important to an infant's development.

Having said that - you can begin to take her for walks and point out and name objects. Like a tree or the school or traffic lights. She will understand.

My first memory was at about six months old. My father took me to a stone quarry and explain what the men were doing in the pit. I learned something that day - that I've never forgotten.

God Bless.

It doesn't take much to keep a baby happy. Give her lots of hugs and love. Around that age she should be starting to laugh, so play peek-a-boo and show her toys with rattles and noises.

Some people use Baby Einstein, but I tried to minimize TV.

How about a bouncer or a baby swing? My son loved those things!

Also, she probably just loves watching mommy and hearing you talk. These are the best months- enjoy!

You can tape a piece of paper to her high chair tray and put a blob of pudding on it and let her create a finger painting. Sometimes just letting them go on thier own is a learning experience for them too. Let her explore and dicover things. Try giving her different things to taste like a lemon, orange, ice cream, don't ever worry about the mess because then it becomes bath time and the water is another earea to play in all together.

I have a 6 month old also. He likes to be held alot. But he likes his walker, swing, and play mat that lies on the floor. He is teething if he likes to chew on stuff. A wet cold washcloth works wonders!! I let him play on his own either in his crib or with one oof the toys I mentioned, when I need to do housework or such. And when not I lie on the floor with him and talk to hi. He also loves it when Im silly(such as making funny faces or funny voices).

Play silly music and dance. Roll balls on the floor to her. Take her out for walks in her stroller. Read, read, read. Tell her every detail of what you are doing like a running commentary. Build block towers and crash them, loudly. Pretend to be different animals. Take her to the grocery and feel and smell the produce. Put a small amount of water on her highchair tray and let her splash. Put an icecube on her highchair tray and let her chase it with her fingers--but stay right there in case she puts it into her mouth. Play peekaboo. Bang on pots and pans.

Hope this helps!

why don't you get one of those 'bouncy' things you put in the doorway - babies usually love them and they exercise their legs. You don't have to worry about them - like in a walker - because they can't go anywhere - just bouncy - bouncy. I used to keep a cold, wet, washcloth because they love to chew on them - makes their gums feel better and don't have to worry about them swallowing anything. Funny how the simplest things work the best. I don't think you should have to entertain her - everything is magical.

At this age she should be getting plenty of tummy time if she hasn't already begun to crawl, put toys and a blanket down for her and let her do her own thing. Take her to the pool, put her in a bouncer that has lots of activities for her to explore. Read, sing, dance with her. Babies love it when your down on their level get down and show her how to play with her toys. Go for a walk and show her the different things in your neighborhood, it will help later with vocabulary.

My daughter loved music at that age. I'd put on music and dance like a fool and she'd crack up. Or, we'd dance together. Also, walks are nice. We are a big fan of our Leapfrog learning table. The legs come off for on the floor play. Have fun.

Lock her up in a cage!! I'M JUST KIDDING!!!!!

My daughter loved Baby Einstein videos....if she were fussy and seemed "bored", turning one of the videos on would always calm her and entertain. And believe it or not, she did learn from them. Also, when my daughter was about that age we bought her a jumper....she LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it. Just some ideas...that's a tough age..but I hope you find something that works.
