Its funny, I didn't say that they would be North South East and West, but a few of you made that connection, which was my original idea. How about these names:

Nanette
Sadie
Eva
Wren

I'll also tell you about each of their personalities, which hopefully will give you a better understanding of what I'm trying to do here. Eva is spoiled, rich, quite the narcissist, judgemental, stuffy with long black hair, piercing green eyes, and ivory skin. She offers strength to the girls. Sadie is a practical, beautiful, compassionate, graceful, optimistic peasant girl, with brown hair, olive skin, and hazel eyes. She offers compassion to the girls. Wren is tomboyish, a free spirit, rough, blunt, pessimistic, and spontaneous with curly red hair, tan skin, freckles, and brown eyes. She offers courage to the girls. Nanette is quiet, smart, an introvert, self-concious, fragile, and in the beginning, a bit of a pushover. She has blonde hair, fair skin, and blue eyes.

So, thoughts?

Would these names be suitable for my fantasy novel?

The character bios are great as far as bios are concerned. However, you may want to go into a little more detail. It's good to start writing your characters at least a week before the actually story starts so you don't make it awkward. The names, however, are a little normal for a fantasy. This is a site that I thought worked wonders for some of my fantasy stories, and plus it has fantasy city names and such, costumes, the works.

Hi!

I love the names! They are perfect for a novel. But I do think some of the names should be switched around.

They say a name makes a person and perhaps I associate names differently, but I like the meaning of the name to fit the character. In my own manuscript, it took me months to choose names for my characters. :)

For example... Sadie, a pet form of the name 'Sarah', means "Princess". So, I would have probably made Sadie the spoiled rich one... Strength and leadership in a fair haired a princess.

The name Eva, a form of the name 'Eve', means "to breathe or to live". So I would have probably made Eva the spontaneous, pessimistic, free spirit... Courage with ebony hair.

I see the name Wren as being the name gifted to your most introverted character. A wren (dictionary) is a small brown song bird, so to me, a character named Wren would be shy, quiet, brown-haired girl with a beautiful voice.

Nanette, a pet form of 'Anne', which comes from the name 'Anna', which is the latin version of the name 'Hannah', means "favor or grace". I see Nanette as your compassionate flamed haired beauty.

That is just my opinion. But no matter what names you choose for which characters, I hope you get published. It sounds like and interesting story and I look forward to reading your book.

Best Wishes...
T.

What about them? I may be dense, but what exactly do you want to hear? Are they nice? What are our opinions of them? Should you name your baby with one of them?

???
