Reggie Bush was a great college player. BUT, he played in the weakest defensive conference of all the major conferences. Reggie Bush's great games of 2005 came against Notre Dame and Fresno State...two HORRIBLE defenses. When USC did play a team with a decent defense(Texas) he was held in check. In that game he had two outstanding plays..the first one was a long run in which he fumbled the ball near the endzone and the second one was at the end of the game when he ran a short pass 40 yards while the Texas D was in prevent defense. Reggie Bush will be a very good pro, but he will not be the spectacular second coming of Gayle Sayers like alot of the "experts" think. Do you agree?

He's from the west coast, so he must be good.

The media loves to hype the West coast and the East Coast. If Mario Williams was "USC defensive end Mario Williams," people wouldn't have had a problem. If VY wasn't from Texas, his following would be bigger.

I agree that Bush did great against horrible defenses (ND, FS, UCLA, etc) I think he has runs remanisanct of Sayers but he isn't Sayers yet. He's not Sanders cause Barry ran inside and out more efficently. De'Angelo Williams is more Barry like.

I like Williams better as RB personally. He is a RB. Bush is an offensive athlete, not a RB.

UT kept Bush quiet...just like NFL defenses will do...

Yea the pac 10 does have horrible D
I don't think UT kept reggie in check he had about 150 total yards
Which is good for any other player
every one just expects more from reggie
Plus they didn't have to give reggie the ball cuz White thier other running back was playing great

u forgot Reggie's Touch down run
the one where he dove into the endzone

and Deangelo does diserve a lot more credit he had a great career on a not so good team

Look people...Reggie Bush is a good player...he's worthy of a start....but he's not worthy of this extremely huge hype. He might have a fantastic career, he might be a bust....we just don't know. I agree, he is overrated at this point and needs to not listen to this hype around him...he got his grossly over the top contract that he wanted...now he better live up and play that well now....In my opinion...no rookie, regardless of skill, deserves a contract that big....it's retarded, they haven't even proved themselves i nthe NFL and they get paid more than people that have been proving worth for years....He better not start being an asshole like T.O. and saying hes the best RB in the league that ever played and wants more money....We need more Marvin Harrison-like players....play hard...talk about money on the side without fuss and stupid crap....Reggie and his agent were demanding 1st overall pick type pay? He was 2nd overall...Reggie Bush or not...you got picked 2nd and deserve 2nd overall pick pay...what a dick....

And for the guy that said Bush was the best in the draft....take a look over at DeAngelo Williams....4th all-time NCAA rusher...the only difference is he didn't have the hype that Bush had. We shall see in a few seasons who the better back is....If I had to pick between them...I'd take the less hyped up Williams over the super duper hyped up Bush...it'll go to his head...it already has...judging by the contract that is.

for constructive he's puffed up as a working returned. All of those fancy strikes he did in college scampering around to make something out of no longer something would not artwork with the fee of NFL defenses. a brilliant style of the time while he tried that stuff he misplaced yards. Deuce does the heavy lifting for the Saints while it is composed of working the ball by using fact he's extra complicated to deliver down. in case you have watched the Saints play while they have given the ball to Reggie down in the purple zone (working play no longer bypass) he extremely has no longer produced lots of something. He the two gets filled or an arm address brings him down. yet whats up, the media hype in this guy is astounding. It extraordinarily much makes one opt to throw up.

Reggie has definately deserved all the hype he has gotten, and i think he'll be one of the great players of his time, but let's see how he does against NFL talent first before we crown him the next barry sanders.
