Usually it fries if there is power to it.


If there was no power to it there is a small chance you can let it dry completely (will usually take several days) and it MAY work again but it's a longshot.

As with most electronic equipment, as long as there was no power to it when it got wet and none since, dry it completely (use a blowdryer and let it sit in a dry enviornment for several days). As long as nothing has corroded or still has moister in it it should work fine. I would try to use an old drive and a live CD to avoid frying the HDD if ther is in fact damage to the board.

Put it away in a cupboard for six months. If you are really lucky after that it will work again.

if it is working id not bother with it ..if u havent turned it on yet ...dry it off with forced air or maybe a blow dryer...then try it ....man that sucks

just let it dry thoroughly(blow dry it or it might rust) and dont open it while it's still wet if you do... its fried...
