it should only be private if you are 14 or under. You need to be OLDER than 15 for it to automatically change to public. You can not change it, all you can do is change your birthday and myspace will then do it. But if you're under 14, I really would not suggest it. Too many bad things are happening

If you have your age set to anything under 16 it will automatically go to "private".
Account Settings > Change “Privacy” Settings

You can only have a private profile if you are under a particular age. I think 14 and under. Check the age on your profile.
