Some humans can be as bad as animals, but overall, humans are better than animals.
Animals pollute the environment, but do nothing to clean it up. People do.
Animals do not grant rights to other animals, nor can they recognize any, because they cannot understand the concept of rights.
Humans grant rights to other humans and recognize these rights. Humans even grant rights to animals.

no i don't. i don't think they can even be compared. it isn't fair to us or them to imagine us as pale imitations or them as poor cousins.
some of us seem to feel guilty when we see what we've wrought; i'm not sure my cat ever stops to think if she's caught the last spider in the house. our sins and our triumphs are more varied and spectacular but i don't think we are worse, we just are.
