Is it safe to take the pill if you might be pregnant? I don't have a Dr. Appointment until the 15th of this month. I don't know if I am but I been on the pill and I am late this month for a cycle. I was wondering if it is okay to keep taking the pill because maybe my cycle is all messed up - I started late last month as well. Sooo is it going to be okay if I keep taking the pill - I assume the people that don't find out they are prego. for months that take the pill continue taking it because they did not know.

Yes it is okay, though of course, as you very well know, it is best to stop taking the Pill as soon as you suspect that you are pregnant. But it does happen that women continue on taking the Pill because they didn't know they were pregnant, and the baby was perfectly fine. I was on birth control pills and I didn't know that I was pregnant, not until I was about 6 weeks along. Of course I stopped taking the pills as soon as I found out, but I did take them that first 6 weeks of being pregnant, and not knowing that I was pregnant. I didn't have a problem with my pregnancy - and my baby came out perfectly healthy. No complications whatsoever.

I know how you feel about trying to decide with whether you should keep on taking the pills or not, when you don't know that you could be pregnant. And like what you said, it is very possible that your hormones could have been just off because you were late starting your pack - that can happen and shift your cycle, so that your period doesn't come when it's supposed to come (making you think that you could possibly be pregnant). Did you try taking a home pregnancy test just to be sure? Since you're already late anyways, why not take a test to find out? Then you can decide depending on the test result what you should do next. But rest assured that if you are indeed pregnant and you happen to take a few pills prior to finding out, your pregnancy will be fine.

Goodluck!

Taking the pill is not safe for your baby if you are pregnant. Stop and take a test, or better yet, see your doctor if this is not the first time you have been late on the pill.

It's not a safe thing to do at all, it's a bit of a gamble. A bit like some women drink while pregnant and their babies come out fine, but other drink while pregnanat and their babies have birth defects.

I would play it safe if I were you and stop taking the pill, and only do oral and/or anal sex if that's something that you're into.

Also, taking a pregnacy test over the counter may help your worries or being pregnant.

I was on the pill and didn't realize I was preggo until 8 weeks. I was still taking the pill-now I'm 40 weeks. You will probably be better off if you buy a pg test before your appt. to know for sure,.

The pill is dangerous for the baby.

If your period is due then take a pregnancy test. Most doctors won't see you for a blood test unless you have taken a home pregnancy test. If it is positive then stop taking the pill. If it's negative then continue on. If you are past the day you were suppose to start your period then the test is 99.96 percent accurate.

You need to make sure you are pregnant because if you quit the pill and continue to have sex and was not pregnant then you can get pregnant. Go buy a test to be sure.

I miscarried while on the pill.

I got pregnant a few days before I got birth control, and my doctor said that my pills were the reason I miscarried.

it is NOT safe- but if you're on the pill why would you think you're preg? Not likely. You're body is probably just adjusting to hormones. This can happen if u just started the BC's or if u've been on them 4 a while...

THE PACKAGING DOES SAY IF YOU SUSPECT PREGNANCY THEN TO DISCONTINUE USE AND CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR. SO MAYBE THAT'S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO.
