Let's see...
How important is a car in determining a person's character? That seems to be the question here. A car is not honesty, nor trustworthiness, nor respectfulness. A car will not want her to achieve all that she can, nor will it support her emotionally in times of trouble.
For that matter, a car doesn't care if she enjoys herself, if she takes good care of herself, or how she treats people around her.

I'd say a car isn't too important in determining who my daughter spends time with.

I want my daughter to spend time with someone who treats her tenderly, who respects the fine person she is and doesn't stand in the way of her working towards her goals in life. I want him to be honest, and considerate, and to be fun as well.

A drivers' license? I guess if there is no reason for him not to have one, I think having a license is a good idea because it's so widely used as identification that it is a sign of maturity to have one. In cases of emergency, it's also a good thing for a person to know how to drive.

I hope this answers your question.

i'd need more info. to be perfectly honest i wouldn't want her dating anyone that didn't want to have sex with her. so him wanting to have sex with her is a must. he should have a career, not just a job. (J-O-B, Just - Over - Broke). or at least working on obtaining a career. as for having a car, that's not top priority unless she is driving him everywhere. he should have a license, if your daughter has a license and a car. Then there is the reason he doesn't have a license. maybe he's a terrible driver and shouldn't be behind the wheel anyway? And second, if she's not feeling attracted to the guy who's "condicive to her growth" that's a dead end.

I would rather my daughter found her own happiness. Material things aren't the issue as no matter what mistakes she makes in life I will always be here for her.Tho i would prefer some one who was willing to work not sit around get on drink and drugs, that I don't have to worry about as she is mature for her age. Car an licence is not important.

Well, all men want to have sex so that part of the question is irrelevant. I'd want my hypothetical daughter to date a man who is not an irresponsible bum. Job is good. Car doesn't matter.

Still, any daughter of mine won't be allowed to date until she's 30...so the question is moot! LOL (just kidding)

why are so many questions being asked that we already know the answer to? surely you know to date the guy with character, morals and will treat you the best. a car is not always a positive thing. especially if you are young. take a cab or bus or have parents give you a ride.

dont lie to your self all guys want sex, its just that some hide it, or are pacient enough. But yeah in this case Id let my daughter date the guy with no car, that way I'd be the one who provided the rides.

They both sound like loosers. I would tell my daughter that she had better pay attention to her education, make better decisions on the boys she is interested in and and work on her social skills with functional communication.

I would only let my daughter date the guy that treats her with the most respect.
