Yes, you can do it.
There is a chance that you might run into a problem downloading official AT&T content to your new cell phone [wallpapers, ring tones, backgrounds - etc.]. The only thing with using unlocked phones is the software already loaded on the phone. Example you current account is with AT&T and the phone you plan to purchase is unlocked from T Mobile. Although the phone maybe unlocked - chances are that it will still have T Mobile software on the phone still. Then when you go to download a ring tone or whatever from AT&T you might receive an error. Basically it'll be a software conflict and your request might be rejected by AT&T.
Do some thorough research before you make the purchase.

yes....or even cheaper-as buying an unlocked phone can be expensive, is buy a phone that takes a sim, and on ebay you can buy phone unlocking software for 5$. I knwo nothing about nothing on computer....you just plug the phone in the computer with a usb and chose the model of phone you have from the program you purchased and chilck-the program will unlock the phone. Just when you buy the program ask the seller if it will unlock the phone you have-as there are different programs to unlock different phones. Ask friends and neighbors for phone-often people have old phones laying around.

Sure!!! You can insert you SIM card into ANY unlocked phone & all your service info will be transfered to that phone. Trust me I've purchased almost ALL my phones on EBAY... & all I do is insert the card & charge the phone & I'm good to go! Hope this helps;)

Verizon works off CDMA community, Tmobile off GSM community thoroughly incompatible, so the answer isn't any. I actually have some GSM unlocked phones on the marketplace enable me comprehend once you've an interest.
