I'm guessing because I drink too much soda. Well i saw these little bags of flavored tea and it said to add to 8oz of bottle water, will this still be like drinking water or dose that defeat the whole purpose of drinking water?

Well, I think that flavored water is gonna help you. But , it is not the same to drink sodas, juices or tea than to drink pure water. My advise, try to start drinking just little sips of water, with time you'll be more able to drink more and more without feeling sick.
My short story..? I used to spend months without drinking water and one day in 2004 I felt a sharp pain in the right side of my pelvis and after rushing to the ER, a ct scan and morphine to control the pain, the Doctor told me I had a kidney stone. I had surgery after 4 days in the hospital with a lot of pain. After that I have to be in check of my kidneys and I MUST drink at least 10 glasses of water every day. I'm at risk to form more stones if I don't drink enough. Wish my story and advice can help you.

Technically drinking a coke is similar to drinking water. Because the main ingredient is, water. Any liquid will keep you hydrated like water does, but the other effects liquids have on you is far beyond what water does for you. Water keeps you hydrated, helps flush toxins, keeps the metabolism going at a higher than normal rate, helps make digestion much easier, helps with loosing weight, fights psychological hunger pains, and a lot more.

Things like tea, flavored water, cokes, energy drinks, etc. are not even the same. Tea can be used for a variety of reasons, just look at how many different kinds of tea there actually is. Flavored water is highly carbonated and will make you bloat up. Cokes destroy your kidneys, and tooth enamel. Dont believe me on that one, take a coke, pour it in a glass jar full of nails, see what happens to the nails. Energy drinks are just vitamins and herbs packed into flavored water.

In short water is better than any liquid because its benifits are endless, and it is all natural.

Well, the stuff you're talking about.... if it's that low-calorie stuff, yeah, technically it's supposed to still count, but pure water is WAY better. You get used to the taste. But you know what? I can't drink that artificial sweetener.... it gives me gas, and not the the embarrassing noisy kind but the painful super bloated kind. Makes my stomach swell up something awful and only drink a glass of baking soda water helps. Stay away from that stuff. If you don't like the taste of your tap water, get yourself either a pitcher with a purifier or one that attaches to your faucet. The last ones aren't cheap, but WELL worth it--I actually like our tap water taste better than the bottled stuff.

I think it may defeat the whole purpose of drinking water...there is nothing like drinking pure water. I can kind of understand you getting sick when you drink water. I never use to drink water...it is not sweet like soda. Anyway, I started drinking water (with lemon in it) with my meals at restaurants instead of soft drink. I slowly got use to it, then I would do it at home. NOW, all I drink is water.....TALL COLD GLASSES OF WATER...so refreshing! Oh, that and coffee in the morning...couldn't break the coffee habit.

You can get your water intake through flavoring it. Drinking water is healthy and replenishing so if you choose to drink it in tea format or in any flavored powder that is fine. It's the summer time so stay rehydrated and drink plenty of fluids.

I don't know what little bags are you talking about. If it has any sugar or sweeteners or cafeine - yeah, it kind of defeats the purpose. Especially caffeine - it makes you dehydrated.

Try different brands of bottled water. My stomach loves Evian (darn, the most expensive one, of course) while many other brands make my stomach ache.
