Try having a yard sale, a bake sale or a fun sort of fundraiser (dance-a-thon, etc.), invite your neighbors, friends, family and coworkers to join in.

In the future, for your other three children, you might want to start a small savings fund, and contribute about $5 a week- that would get you about $250 a year- for extracurricular activities.

How old is your son? I dont know of any school or rec dept that would charge someone $400.00 to play football. Most schools/rec leagues provide uniforms and equipment. I have a hard time understanding what the $400.00 would be for.
