Every six hours or so, the timer is supposed to turn on the heating coil. The heating coil is wrapped among the freezer coils. The heater then melts the ice off the coils. When all of the ice is gone, the temperature sensor senses the temperature rising above 32 degrees F (0 degrees C) and turns off the heater.
Check this out.

it's probably a blocked defrost drain. look under the cooling coil in the freezer section (may have to remove a panel). you will see an ice build-up. Melt the ice with a hair dryer, then locate the drain opening. Fill a turkey baster with very hot water, insert it into the opening, & push the water through quickly. This should flush out the drain tube.

First if you are not sure how to do this call someone. Clean your refrigerator in the back part where the coils are. You can use your vacum cleaner in reverse and blow out the dirt. If the fins are badly damaged then you need to use a fin comb. If this does not help then try to hit your freezer setting gently a couple of fingers. . These are just a few of the trouble problems.

There's a timer switch that kick the reffer in to a cycle to defrost that is probably not working or the air flow is blocked The other thing someone else covered is a faulty seal,or door miss a lined. You can check that out by putting a piece of paper in the door if you can pull it out with no resistance then your seal leaks.

The defrost cycle may be mal-functioning.
Is the door seal intact? If slight melting is occurring, it will form ice. To check, close it on a sheet of paper. The paper should be difficult to pull out.

Check the seal around the door for damage, if there is a slight gap it may be making freezer work harder, thus producing excessive ice.

There's only one drainage pipe. unblock it with an old knitting needle or something long and thin. fridge mechanics have a special rod for it, the icing up happens when the machines on it's last legs. . usually.

1. Check the seal around the door to make sure it is sealed properly.
2. Check your auto defrost motor. It may have burnt out. In that case, you have to get someone to repair it.

i get this as well but with mine its because of the kids going in it for ice cream and lollies they don't bother to shut the door properly so make sure its being closed properly and check the door seal or if your still under garantee get someone to come out to check it before you mess about with anything(it voids the garantee)good luck
