Does anyone kmow about microwave towers for high speed dsl internet access?

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT MICROWAVE TOWERS' CONNECTION TO DSL SERVICE WITH AT&T SBC GLOBAL

Right now I'm logged on to a client's router. They're using high-speed microwave for internet access. Reception was fine for a while, but now, every few minutes, the connection drops "mysteriously". Our equipment is fine. The moment we try to VPN in, internet lights up all across the board. But, every few minutes it drops and we have to VPN again just to make it work. We can VPN and telnet all day, no problems. Our diagnostics all show optimal. But the d*** signal drops again and again and again.
This is not the first frigging nightmare we've had with microwave high-speed. For home use... up to you. For business critical applications... you might as well shoot yourself in the foot.
