How do I make a screen for a screen door?

I have a large amount of fishing line... how do I thread it together to make a nice screen door that the cats won't tear?

I think you would have to make a loom. I had one as a kid, they are not all that complicated. The hard part will be hand weaving every strand. Given enough Patience, string, and beer; You should be able to pull it off. It won't last long however. It will lack UV protection, and rot.

Try your local Ace hardware, Handy Andy, Home Depot or other store. The have some nice screen materials especially for pets. Some of these places even will put it in for you if you can bring the frame. The frame should seperate fromt he door by removing 6 to 8 screws depending on the door.

Lowe's and Home Depot sell "Pet Screen", it is very tough and I doubt your cat will hurt it, I put it all most every screen door I have, it is pet proof and kid proof. Not very expensive compared to the job you are thinking about......

lol...that's funny. Sorry. I think you have to probably have some type of specially made factory equipment to make your own screen. They sell them everywhere and probably in the size you need. They are affordable, however, if you are looking for durable you will probably have to spend a little more.

it would be easier to buy some metal screen it would hold up better than vinyl sceen,to weave one would take alot of time and be hard to keep the screen tight enough to keep out bugs.

Sounds like a lot of work. Wouldn't it be easier to get metal mesh from the hardware store? (n.b. our cats claw holes in that too :-(

Good luck, why not just build a scratching post for your cat or have it's front claws removed.
