you should eat complex carbs on days you do a heavy workout then on alternate days do a light workout and eat lots of proteins. the carbs give you energy to burn for the heavy workouts and the proteins rebuild the muscles on the light workout days. do not get this backwards because you don't want to use the protein for energy on heavy workout days.
