Its in california, and the soil is pretty good and i water it once a day and the soil is moist.

Don't cut it so short, water it at night and put some Scott's turf builder fertilizer on it or some other type produced by Scott's see the guys at Home Depot or some other distributor.

Be careful that you aren't overwatering it, that can also give it brown spots. Also watch what time of day you water it. Don't water it mid-day or when the sun is intense. Water magnifies the sun rays and will burn your grass. The spots also could be due to grubs, use an insecticide to treat for grubs.

i am in california too and the gardner said the burn spots needed more moisture
