I don't think Heath would do a good job as joker. After "brokeback mountain", I think his career went straight down the drain. I don't think he is zany enough to be joker. It would suckk if joker would be in the closet gay villain right? I think Johnny Depp could play the part much much more better. What do you think?

i agree with you that he wouldn't make a good joker, but Broke Back Mountain was a good movie, which proves that he can seriously act. I loved him in knights Tale. He can do action, adventure, and romance but can he do comedy? I don't think he is crazy enough to do joker.

Honestly, I am more curious how his accent is going to work out. In Brokeback Mountain, he really had to try for that husky voice, you know it didn't come easy to him. He's only done one film since Brokeback that I've seen, Casanova, and he wasn't terrible in it, the entire concept was terrible. But he does have a smile and features that will hold that evil grin, to be honest. Considering how well the new Batman turned out, this could be a repeat of the last series. I hated Batman Returns, and this sequel can land it in the same downhill battle. But I'm going to trust Christopher Nolan to work his actors and keep the mood right. Won't know 'til we shell out $10!

I think johnny Depp is one of the best actors today.

He might be a bit old if they are going for young "heartthrob" actors.

This will give Ledger a chance to prove he can do comedy.

But it could be a big mistake!

I can't see him as a good Joker.

I don't think ANYONE acting in a comic-book movie is cool.... I prefer originality, to be honest, and I pray that Depp wouldn't sink to that level.

Further, I question whether or not Ledger's career went "down the drain" after BBM. At the very least, he's got a countless fanbase of women lusting after him, not to mention the tons of people that can look past whatever "social stigma" BBM involved and clearly see talent for talent.

well Johnny Depp or Christian Slater are the obvious choices, but after Broke Back theres no doubting Ledger can act...whether he can act crazy enough to do the Joker is another thing....

I can visualize Heath as joker he already has the smile and he is a very versatile actor. I loved him in Knight's tale.
