Your doctor should give you a list of safe medications to take while pregnant you should really call and ask. My OB said Tums, Mylanta, Maalox, Zantac HB and Pepcid AC are safe. If you have heartburn, which is common in pregnancy mix a spoonful of Baking Soda with a cup of water and drink. It tastes nasty but works better than Tums.

Tums are safe. Beyond that, call your doctor because all of them have different lists of safe drugs. If you can't get your doctor, you should at least be able to get a nurse at the office who can tell you what your doctor allows. I know that my doctor forbade pepto bismol. I am not sure about the Emetrol.

About a month ago I had diarrhea for two days straight. I was really sick, and I called my doctor up and he said to take Kaopectate(sp?) as directed on the bottle.
If I have heartburn or other minor stomach problems I usually just take Tums, as many others have suggested.
Call your doctor for a list of medicines approved during pregnancy. When I went in for my first appointment I was given a sheet that had a list of things that was okay for me to take.
Good Luck!

Hi, I am a nurse so I may be able to help you find something for your tummy, I also had severe tummy problems with my son! My doctor put me on tagamet 25 mg 2 times a day during the first and second trimester, I also was allowed to take tums with calcium since I couldn't drink milk.
Hope this helps, slk

I was told not to take Pepto Bismol while pregnant it can cause bleeding. But you can take Mylanta. Sometimes eating a few regular saltine crackers can help to. Good luck with the pregnancy. God Bless!

Please dont take the Pepto. It can cause Reyes Syndrome in children and young adults. Emetrol is supposed to be on the safe list for pregnancy.

I lived off of TUMS. It's the only thing my doctor would let me have. But it totally saved me the last few months especially.

Tums is what I've heard. It also gives you the calcium you need. Also, after you've chewed a couple, lean to your left a bit and you will probably burp.
