I really like that song. What exactly is it written about? I think it is about a guy who came across some hard luck (what happened to him?) and another person (is it the doctor?) says something to the effect of that is nothing, you should have seen what happened to me. You get the idea, I may be way off on the basics, but what is the song about?

Wrong! All wrong! It is called "Live Like you were Dying", and the music video (not the song) is the tribute to his father. Tim McGraw co-wrote the song, and the song itself a man is telling the story of what happened to him to another man, which was that he was diagnosed with something and the doctors told him he had only so long to live, so he went off and did and saw many wonderful things, forgave everything done against him, and when became a better person in general. When the man was told he wasn't going to die, he saw the changes in himself because of what had happened, and he wished that everyone would live like they were dying, i.e. live with no regrets, do the things they have always wanted to, be nicer, y'all get the picture.

I have been thinking of this question seriously for the past 5 yrs when I had a dear friend whom I loved and my mother died a yr later. I like that song also by Tim McGraw. What I have been wanting to do is make a CD for my children and grandchild about how much they have meant to me during my life and nothing Negative in these CD because life is negative enough at times. I have been telling them more and spending more time with them that they are the most important people in my life. I am a major depressant so I feel I can make lives a little depressing for everyone and that is not my intention, but I am giving my wisdom and pray for the best. When it comes to others, I am wanting to turn around and give back the good others have given me thought out my life. I have had many blessing just sometimes forget them. God has been the strongest part in my life and hope to get my children to see how important he can be in there also. Work in-progress.

The song is called "Live Like You were Dying" & it was a song that was about his relationship with his late father, Tug McGraw, a former MLB Player. It was a fitting tribute to his father just before he died last year of a inoperable brain tumor.

I think it is about his dad or someone getting a very bad illness or having limited time to live, is experiencing and doing everything they ever wanted since time is so limited for them. So that person suggestion is to not wait; to live each day with happiness and adventure.

well its about the bad relationship he had with his dad "Tug" McGraw who was a pitcher of the Philadelphia Phillies... well one day his dad finds out he has cancer and is going to die soon..to make a long story short they made up and they really couldn't be separated..in his last few days that he was alive....I forgot who wrote the song for him ..but it is good song inspired me to find my natural father...but he wants nothing to do with me
