Is it because they have been through a lot of stuff and think they are wise beyond their years?

I AM NOT JUDGING ANYONE! I SIMPLY ASKED A QUESTION!
NO it was not all hunky dory for me as a teen. You people make SO many assumptions!
There is NOTHING in my question that is judgmental or mean.

Teens have though they are smarter and wiser than they actually are for thousands of years... it's just a trait of the age. I think anyone that survived their teen years would look back and say "Gosh, I really didn't know **** back then!!"

i am a preteen and people tell me that i am mature. i think i had to grow up a little more mature than some other kids because of my family sitiation (pronounced sitch-ee-a-shin). My bro has alot of propblems because. i is menrtally and physicly challenged and i had to do alot and help my mom out alot because she is a single parent that has too many bills to pay and my dad live halfway across the country and is not their alot so i had to be the mini mom when i was little. i am very responsible and mature. i still like to have fun and be a kid even tho i have to be mature 99% of the time.

because we are. i mean think about it. Back when u were a teen everything was "hunky dorey" yunno? if someone got pregnant out of wedlock, it wasn't even talked about. you just have to trust us. Times have changed. most kids truly are "wise beyond their years" as u put it. they r just trying to do their best in a world that has forsaken them. think about that next time you decide to judge. things r not always as they seem.

Its because their bodies mature a lot quicker now a days. Sense their bodies are maturing, the rest of them mature as well. Just not their attitudes obviously. Its amazing how many smart teens I know and work with, act stupid or ditsy because they feel it attracts boys/girls.

b/c some of them are... I'm not saying all of them are...
OK i dont know how old you are..you might just be saying that b/c you are older than teens but you can be 30 or even 40 and still not be mature so in my opinion a 13-18 year old can be mature...

Most teens are mature, the only problem is that you have a few rotten apples that make the whole bunch look bad.
You have just as many stupid adults as you have teens.

because some of them grew up around all adults and they begin to act like the adults and therefore, they are in many ways mature, but in other ways, they are not!

They have to learn to be mature early to defend themselves against people like you that put them down for trying to act decently

I think it's because when somebody becomes a teenager, it's their first stage in life where they don't feel childish. They feel older, like a "big kid" for once.
