My girlfriend and I had unprotected sex around a week ago, and now she's sick and nauseated and having bad headaches. She thinks she might be preganant, could it happen so fast?

Sounds more like she has the flu. It is possible for her to be pregnant but unlikely that the symptoms are hitting her so soon. (Although it does happen.) Have her go to the doctor asap

Some women's bodies change so soon that they can tell right away. But in most cases, it can take a couple of weeks to really know for sure. In the mean time, she can take a urine test, which may be a false-negative result. I know they say that happens not very often but my son is living proof that stats can be wrong. If you really need to know, get a blood draw done. It is really the only way to know for sure.

Also if she is panicking right now, tell her to calm down. The mind can play tricks with the body and she may be bringing on these symptoms herself.

Good luck and I hope everything works out for you both.

Implantation usually happens between 12-14 days after conception. Take a home test, there is one on the market (I can't remember the name) that can tell if she is pregnant 5 days before a missed period. If she is pregnant make an appt with an OB and get checked out and start taking pre-natal vitamins. Good luck.

Most likely it is in her head. Most pregnancy symptoms don't show till 5-7 week along, although all women are different and my mother loves to tell me how she was sick from day 1....

Tell her to calm down, stress will make her period late...if she wants to know the blood test might pick it up so soon, another method is ultrasound....good luck.

it's depend on the ovarian cycle of your girlfriend.if her menstruation has stopped , or if you had an intercourse at the 5 first day of her cycle ,the probability of pregnancy is more.by the way the diagnosis is not possible until the first week.
