Hi, it depends on her hight and her health is suffering from this. Yoou can check her Body Mass Index, Do it online if you like just type it in and you will find loads. I weight 130 lbs a little over weight for my height and i need to loose weight but i am small, but you wouldnt think i weigh that much to looking at me. If she is happy i dont think you should be making comments about her on yahoo answers, if she doesnt want to lose weight leave her alone, but if she has come to you for help, dont humiliate her. as it could seriously mentally and physically harm her as she is only 13.

First of all i want to say that most of the things the other members are saying is correct. Everyone comes in different shapes and sizes and even if she's not 5"1, depending on how she is built she could be fine. In this situation, however, it does not sound like she meets any of these criteria for being "okay." I am 30 years old, 5'4 1/2 and i weigh 235 pounds. I didn't start out being overweight. I used to be very skinny up until about the time i was 10 years old. Then little by little the weight started to add up. My point is that if her eating and exercising habits are not healthy now they may not get better and she needs to be encouraged, in a positive way, to make those changes now. Even if you are not overweight, you might want to consider offering to work out with her whether it's just walking or doing Tae-Bo. The older you get the harder it is to get the weight off as i am now finding out. Plus, she'll have a much happier high school experience if she gets the weight off now. Take it from the girl who never had a boyfriend and never went to either her junior or senior prom because nobody asked!

weight depends on height. you are at a healthy weight. this equation is used by health care professionals to determine ideal body weight (IBW) for a given height.
IBW women = 45 + 2.3 ( every inch over 5 feet) = ideal body weight in kg. to convert to lbs X 2.2
men= 50 + 2.3 (every inch over 5 feet)
so your ideal weight for your height would be 45 + 2.3 (2) = 49.6 kg X 2.2 = 109 lbs.

You shouldn't be so judgemental. If she likes the way she is and she's healthy, then she doesn't need to loose weight.

How tall is she? this isn't a bad weight if she isn't 5 foot tall.
Her body will change as she gets older, her baby fat will go away. just give her chance to develop.
